Last night I was delighted to be among the crowd applauding the premiere showing of a short film, "The Long Weekend" which was written and produced by Patrice Hamilton, an English teacher at Tunxis CC and a member of our writers group.
Patrice had written the piece as a short story and decided to take it further into the film format. With the help of several people including the cinematographic and editing abilities of John Timmons and acting finesse of Sally Terrell–both Tunxis faculty members, what resulted was an excellent story that was enhanced by the ability of visuals and sound to show the situations surrounding a married couple who are trying to get away for at least a weekend from a home that no longer offers them privacy and comfort–it is bugged.
We are all so very proud of Patrice, who is not afraid to explore all means to share her creativity with an audience. In stepping up from writer to producer, she was challenged by the medium and found answers in the process.
Congratulations and my best wishes for the success of this film, Patrice!
