WRITING: Astronomical Metaphor

From the BBC news: “Comet pioneer Fred Whipple dies —
Tributes have been paid to astronomer Fred Whipple who has died. He was the first scientist to describe comets as “dirty snowballs”.

That’s what I like: A scientist using poetic metaphor. What a great combination!

    Fred Whipple – excuse me, but isn’t he better known for “Please don’t squeeze the Charmin'”? After all, let’s give credit where credit is due.
