REALITY: Spring Signs

A sunny morning belies the foreshadow of the snow storm sailing into port, an ETA of sometime in the night.  I see the forecast on the laptop where I’m sitting in the living room, and am interrupted by bird shadows on the sunny blinds.  Some chirps and swoosh of landing wings.

Together, a male and female are building their nest in the bush beside the picture window.

It’s like this time of year can’t decide where it wants to stand … one foot in the chilly frost, and one foot in the warming glow.

I saw a tiny green bud appearing on a tree today, and was shocked to realize that Spring is just around the corner. The shadows of winter seem to linger in every corner, even as the warmth of the earth creeps closer and closer.
