TECHNOLOGY: Power Morning

Don’t need no stinkin’ degree; learnt more in my backyard.

Previous post entered this morning, about seeing the strength in the small things.

Last night I put a new power supply into one of the home computers, hoping that was the problem and not a fried motherboard.  Hooked everything back up, pressed the front buttons, and still nothing.  Rechecked all the connections, spun around three times, blessed myself and tried again.  Nothing.

Just a bit ago, I looked at the guts one more time, unplugged and plugged it back in, compared the wattage on the new power supply with the old, and then saw it.  The on/off power switch on the back of the new one.  Flicked it to the proper position, pressed the front buttons, joyfully listened as it fired right up.

It’s the little things that are often the source of power.  Strange, I wasn’t even thinking of the dumb weed cracking the stone step, or the lesson I had learned nearer dawn, but something made me go back and succeed.

Ya have time to take a trip due south and check out my various home computers. We have 6 at the moment and except for my laptop, not a one that can open a file on the internet and print. Each can do one or the other, but not both. Sigh. I hate computers. I love computers.
