EDUCATION: Moving On

Well there, now it’s gone–the last of it.  Remnants of campus life cleaned out of bookbags.  Pens and pencils, calculator, and a floppy disk.  Scraps of paper, mints and gum and comb.  A mini-flashlight?  Oh yes, night classes.  Never used.

Susie Student, dead for now.  Resurrected maybe someday in hallowed halls and writing desks.  It was an experience, a different me than I had been in many years or maybe ever.  A different me emerged, draped in black, different than the white-robed girl of forty years ago.  Different than the woman who stepped light and cautious on foreign soil of further study.  Heavier now with purpose, more certain of herself, I may have even left some tracks.
