WRITING: Imagery

The setting sun melted the horizon into lumps of chocolate trees, a pool of oily butter shimmering on the surface.  You could feel the heat of the day refusing to fade into the dusk, and hear the song of the tree frogs, eyes popping with the joy of the coming night.

The above is quite possibly a candidate for The Edward Bulwar Lytton prize.
