It was an act both silly and profane, yet had it been accomplished by a man of lesser status than The Count it might have been forgotten in a year or two.  But when Joseph Monteforto, who gained his moniker in college days for an extraordinary sense of bold adventure bordering on the insane, accidentally blew up his study it was a turning point in the small town of Corriville for every man, woman and child who lived there.
