LITERATURE: Shipping Methods & Costs

I’ve got to say that I’m not real happy so far with my Powell’s purchases.  Choosing Economy shipping was a BIG mistake; one shipment’s been sitting at their local post office for five days.  I believe because of the amount spent I received free shipping, but Powell’s adds a "per item" fee to their shipping rates that can bring a good-sized order way over and above what’s charged by others.  I’m also not happy with the way the books were packed in one shipment, being loosely stuck by heavy grade shrinkwrap to the bottom of an unpadded (even with air pack) box.  One of the used paperback books that I paid $5.50 for is in such bad shape I can’t see how they didn’t clearly define its condition.

In the meantime, Barnes & Noble with free shipping and ordered on the same day, came in within a couple days, as did Amazon’s order.

I find such deliveries pretty darned good, actually. We live in an amazing age.

Hope you enjoy what you got!

You, who put huge pieces of metal into the sky in seconds, feel that two weeks across 2500 miles is okay?

Hell, it only took me an hour to purchase the books.
