WRITING: W/RW

Meaning:  Write/Rewrite

I do enjoy rewriting.  I’m having fun right now manipulating a conversation between a married couple during a harrowing ride in a snowstorm.  They’re headed up to a cabin for a weekend.  They’re talking but not listening.  They’re talking but not saying. There are layers of their days together in what they’re saying, and what they’re not.

Here’s where life experience comes in.  Watching.  Doing.  Understanding.

But there’s also a problem area in the piece; one that makes no sense at all and yet because I’m too enchanted by the language, I’m having trouble straightening it out.  If it becomes too clear, then the poetry is lost.  But with the poetics, the words, as I say, are ungrammatic and misleading.

I need new eyes to see through the muddle.
