TECHNOLOGY: No Mac for Me

Though I haven’t even gotten a chance to look at the downed PC (cleaning the basement a little, just so the plumbers could get to the pipes turned into a major overhaul as one thing leads to another to another–you know how it goes, and the neighbor’s Media Player problem turned into a project involving a new CD unit) but even so, reason reigns.

There’s just no way I could justify the outlay of money.  If the estate had been settled or more importantly, if I had gotten one of the jobs I went after, I could easily rationalize spending $2500 on a Mac system.  Especially since the laptop screen seems to be having a bit of a hint of problems ahead.  There comes a time when you have to examine your past, consider your future, and make the obvious decisions based on probabilities instead of the possibilities youth and intelligence once offered, and face the fact that you blew it.

So once I’m out of the cellar and into the technology end of my life instead of the brute labor, it’ll be with an eye for repair just to get a working system put back together.
