REALITY?: Selfish Heart

(UPDATED: Now I feel even worse. It was unbelievably delicious. I actually ended up with enough for two.  I ate it all.)

I am a bad person.

El esposo is at a retirement dinner.  I am sauteing shrimp and escargot in garlic butter and herbs for myself.

Yum! Good for you. You can’t have too much garlic or shrimp!

I agree! The garlic butter (a dab–mostly olive oil) would’ve been enough with a piece of fresh bread for dipping. But the shrimp, and the escargot (canned, but still good) made it a devilishly good feast.

Everything sounded good except for the snails.

They added a flavor that melded with the garlic and shrimp so well and thankfully they look like crinkled dark mushrooms when they’re not hiding in their shell. Actually, I have dozens of snail shells from previous meals but I no longer bother stuffing the little buggers into them unless it’s a fancy company dinner.
