WRITING & REALITY?: Plot

Easy to find plot in reality, harder in my stories I guess.  A friend just read my latest and found nice imagery, but little plot to carry the story.  Not easy to fix, based on the concept, unless I change the concept, or make it all very obvious.  Will have to think about it, maybe let it go (if I can!) for a couple more weeks until it gets workshopped.

In reality, it’s story and plot that’s all too evident and sadly dramatic:

Rather than repeat it all, I’ll link to Cosmic Variance’s post on the plight of the five nurses and a doctor, known as the Tripoli Six, imprisoned for five years and now facing execution in Libya for charges of bringing in HIV into the hospital and infecting 400 children.  Please do follow the links and spread the word to do what we can to prevent this travesty of justice.

Locally, a Burlington, CT woman has turned her planned Christmas tree farm into a refuge for foals, also slated for execution as a unnecessary side effects of impregnating mares for their urine which is used in the production of Premarin.  These horses are born up in Canada, and folks are trying to outbid the dogfood folks in buying and bringing them to safety.  While I’m not against all uses of animals to benefit mankind, there has to be a better way.  There’s a rescue Sanctuary with more information online at http://www.foalrescue.com.
